Oceanbasket is an online retail platform dedicated to fresh, frozen, dried and processed seafood products — including fish, prawns, crabs, lobsters, squid, oysters, mussels and related aquatic produce sourced from India’s coasts, rivers and certified aquaculture farms. We operate as a direct-to-consumer seafood marketplace, eliminating unnecessary middlemen so that the seafood reaching your table is both fresher and more fairly priced.

2. Eligibility to Purchase

To place an order on Oceanbasket, you must be at least 18 years of age. By creating an account or placing an order, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to refuse service to any person and to cancel orders that appear fraudulent, placed in bad faith, or in violation of these Terms. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity conducted under your account. If you suspect any unauthorised access to your account, you must notify us immediately at info@oceanbasket.in.

3. Product Descriptions and Accuracy

Every listing on Oceanbasket includes the species name, weight, cleaning state, and preparation type. We make every effort to keep all descriptions accurate and current. However, as seafood is a natural perishable product, actual weights may vary by up to 10% from the listed amount due to natural moisture, trimming, and biological variation. Product images are representative of the species and preparation style; actual colour, size, and shape may vary depending on the season and catch batch. We do not warrant that product descriptions are entirely error-free, but we work diligently to maintain accuracy and correct any errors as soon as they are identified.

4. Pricing, Taxes, and Payment

All prices displayed on our platform are in Indian Rupees (INR). Prices are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless explicitly stated otherwise. Our GST registration number is 37AAFCO1799Q1ZH. Prices are subject to change without prior notice due to market fluctuations in seafood pricing, seasonal availability, and logistics costs. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time you confirm and pay for that order — not any earlier or later price shown.

We accept the following payment methods: Credit cards, debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), net banking, UPI (BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), and popular digital wallets. All payment processing is handled through secure, PCI-DSS compliant gateways. Oceanbasket does not store your complete card number or CVV on our servers at any time.

5. Order Placement and Acceptance

An order placed on Oceanbasket constitutes an offer to purchase the specified items at the stated prices. On placing your order, you will receive an automated confirmation email or SMS acknowledging receipt. This confirmation is an acknowledgement — not an acceptance of the order. A legally binding contract between you and Oceanbasket is formed only when we dispatch your items and send you a dispatch confirmation. We reserve the right to reject or cancel any order at our sole discretion, including where a product is out of stock, where a pricing error has occurred, where an address is unserviceable, or where we reasonably suspect fraudulent intent. In all such cases, any payment already received will be fully refunded within the standard processing timeline.

6. Delivery and Cold-Chain Handling

Oceanbasket delivers within our defined serviceable zones across India. Delivery timelines are estimates and may be affected by weather conditions, logistics partner schedules, public holidays, or factors beyond our reasonable control. All perishable orders are packed in thermally insulated boxes with food-grade ice gel packs or dry ice to maintain safe temperatures during transit. It is your responsibility to ensure that a responsible adult is present at the delivery address at the time of delivery. We cannot be held liable for spoilage that results from an inability to deliver due to an incorrect address provided by the customer, or due to extended absence of a recipient after delivery is attempted.

7. Cancellation by the Customer

Due to the perishable nature of all our products, cancellations are accepted only before the order has been assigned to our fulfilment team for preparation. Once an order enters processing, it cannot be cancelled. For cancellation of an eligible order, contact us immediately via phone at 9966667411 or WhatsApp at 9966667411. Do not email for cancellations as email response times may not be quick enough for time-sensitive perishable orders. Refunds for eligible cancellations will be processed in accordance with our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

8. Returns and Quality Complaints

Due to food safety and hygiene regulations, physical returns of delivered seafood are not accepted under any circumstances. However, if you receive a product that is wrong, significantly underweight, damaged, or shows clear signs of quality failure, you are entitled to raise a complaint within 2 hours of delivery with photographic evidence. On verification, we will offer a replacement, store credit, or refund as appropriate. 9. User Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for all orders and activity carried out through your Oceanbasket account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information at registration and keep this information updated. Sharing your login credentials with any third party is strictly prohibited. Oceanbasket cannot be held responsible for unauthorised purchases made through your account due to credential sharing or failure to secure your login details. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently close accounts that breach these Terms, are suspected of fraud, or show patterns of abusive complaint behaviour.

10. Intellectual Property

All content published on the Oceanbasket website — including but not limited to text, images, product photography, category descriptions, page content, logos, brand assets, and navigation structures — is the exclusive intellectual property of Oceanbasket or its licensed content partners. This content is protected under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, and applicable international intellectual property conventions. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, scrape, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted for reference purposes only.

11. Prohibited Conduct

By using Oceanbasket, you agree not to: (a) use the platform for any purpose that is unlawful under Indian law; (b) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, server, or database connected to our platform; (c) submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information at any stage of ordering or registration; (d) post defamatory, abusive, or discriminatory content in reviews or communications; (e) use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to extract data from our website; (f) interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of our platform in any way; or (g) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our software systems.

12. Limitation of Liability

Oceanbasket shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data. In all circumstances, our maximum liability to you for any single order is capped at the total value of that order as paid by you. We make no representation or warranty that our website will be available without interruption, that it will be error-free, or that it will be free from viruses or security vulnerabilities.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Oceanbasket services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. 14. Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to amend, update, or replace these Terms at any time without prior notice.
